SATURDAY 22 AUGUST 2015 KGC
Three events were run
concurrently at the KGC on Saturday. The main competition, the Annual SPCA Golf
Fundraiser was an IPS in which the extraordinary value of the prizes was almost
matched by the extraordinary winning scores, nine players recording 40 points
or more. Ultimately it was Morne Ebersohn who was first his 44 points
comfortably clear of the field after a personal best gross 81 off his seventeen
handicap. This included a two over par 38 on the inward nine. Not only did he
win an office chair, HNA also presented him with a brand new handicap. A count
out on 42 points saw Jasper Kroep second and Jaco Janse third. Four prize
winners followed on 41 points – Neville Alexander, PJ Gerber, Alistair McKenzie
and Sandra Nel – deemed fourth to seventh respectively.
In the Ladies Bogey
competition Susan Alexander was first on +2, Susan Ferreira was second on +1
and Noreen Anne Crozier was third on 0.
In the Senior Society
outing Gavin Schafer and Wedge Crozier returned a winning 47 betterball points.
Attie van Niekerk and Dave Wilson were second on 45 points in a count out from
Lennie Allen and Willie Uys.
FRIDAY 21 AUGUST 2015 SUN FLAMINGO NINER
Top scores marked the
Sun Flamingo Niner Friday evening. 22 points was the leading score. And it was Brian Daniels, who, coupled with a
tied count out and a lucky draw, claimed the first prize. Losing that draw, in
second place, was Mali Manana. The remaining prize winners all returned 21
points – Parks Mashaboa, Bonolo Modise and Peter Salo.
FRIDAY 21 AUGUST 2015 CTCS SNOWBALL DRAW
Brian Daniels went
one further Friday night when his number came up in the CTCS draw to claim R1
700.
THURSDAY 20 AUGUST 2015 KWV POWERPLAY NINER
Ant Crozier produced
a big six at the par three 14th and a total of 24 points to win the
KWV Powerplay Niner on Thursday. Deuce Leburu was second on 23 points after a
big six at the par four 15th. Kat Swanewpoel was third on 21 points,
no powerplay required.
Thuso Dichaba and Nic
Ross also added a big six ticket each to the Roodeberg and Rump draw.
WEDNESDAY 19 AUGUST 2015 DARSHA INSURANCE BROKERS IPS
Harry Welham
underlined his current form in posting 41 individual stableford points to win
the Darsha Insurance Brokers Monthly Competition on Wednesday. Wide awake to
this the ever present HNA system has snapped three shots off his handicap in
reasonably quick succession. Such a score was needed, however, as no less than
four players followed on 40 points. The count out deemed Wikus Kok second and
OJ Maimane third. First reserve was Tenderson Manyetsa and second reserve was
Frans Smith.
COMING UP THIS WEEK
This week the KGC
offers the Tuesday Cleveland Golf sponsored Super Six Tournament, the
Annabell’s BBS on Wednesday and the Under 23 Spur Challenge and the KWV
Powerplay Niner on Thursday. On Friday it is the Sun Flamingo Niner plus the
CTCS draw that will revert to R1 000. On Saturday it is the final round of the
Pennypinchers Winter Meat Challenge.
