Scorching, not only the weather, that was
the golf on Saturday. The top players on the day, Christo Botma and Alan
Doherty, carded a gross 69 and a gross 74 respectively. Both players returned
42 individual stableford points in which the count out deemed the latter first
and the former second. The third and fourth placed players were just one point
behind on 41 points each, Oban Cronje adjudged third and Neil Langley
fourth.
Eddie Barkhuizen, the only player on 20
points, enjoyed a clear win in the Friday Sun Flamingo Niner. Virgil
Fredericks, Carlo Alexander and Fareez Alexander all followed on 19 points. The
final prize went to Darian Fortune on 18 points.
It was a powerplay six pointer that ensured
each of the winners a spot on the rostrum in the KWV Powerplay Niner last
Thursday. Gerhard Buys returned a big six at the par three 11th and
an aggregate 21 points for first place. The runner up, Nico Ross, enjoyed a big
six at the par four 15th and an aggregate 20 points. Finally third
placed Jaco Buys, made a big six at the par three 14th and an
aggregate 19 points.
Three players returned the top score, 39
individual stableford points, in the Darsha Insurance Brokers final 2015
Wednesday Competition. The count out deemed Siewert Wiid first, Gerhard Buys
second and Christo Botma. Jaco Buys was fourth on 37 points with Kobus Strydom
fifth on 36 points on a count out.
Allan Meyers claimed the Cleveland Golf
Super Six Tournament on Tuesday evening.
This was on a count out from Peter Salo,
each scored 14 points for the 6 holes. Garth Lee
was third on 13 points.
This week sees the start of Monday play for
December. On Tuesday it is the Cleveland Golf Super Six Tournament. On
Wednesday, the Public Holiday, there will be a betterball stableford, with
morning and afternoon times available. On Thursday it is the KWV Powerplay
Niner. On Friday it is the Sun Flamingo Niner and the CTCS draw. On Saturday it
is the annual Greenkeepers Revenge.
