ST ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH GOLF DAY
Johnny Higgs posted 40 individual
stableford points that included 23 points in the count out to win the annual
St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Golf Fundraiser on Saturday. Kumar Anoop, also
on 40 points, but, with only 19 points in the count, out was deemed second.
Four players returned 39 points – JP van Rooyen, Mano Liebenberg, Henk Brand
and Jan van Vuuren. In all the prizes paid down to 12th position.
FRIDAY
SUN FLAMINGO MEAT AND SLOTS NINER
Ramon Barlow, on 22 points, was a clear
winner of the Friday Sun Flamingo Meat and Slots Niner. Three players followed
on 19 points Donald Whitebooi, Noreen Anne Crozier and Tenderson Manyetsa. A
five-way count out on 18 points for the final prize saw Darian Fortune placed
fifth.
THURSDAY
KWV POWERPLAY NINER
On Thursday OJ Maimane made a birdie at the
difficult par four fifteenth to add a “great eight” to his score and a double
entry to the Rooderberg and Rump draw. His 24 point total also gave him the win
in the KWV Powerplay Niner. Flexx Rantoa and Ant Crozier were second and third,
each on 22 points and each with a “Big Six” on their nominated holes. It was in
fact a bumper “Big Six” occasion; Nico Ross, Dave Benade, Willie Uys, Gerhard
Buys, Kat Swanepoel and Peter Salo also successful.
WEDNESDAY
LEON”S HOUSE OF LIQUOR IPS
The Ladies section underlined their
superior skills Wednesday afternoon in the Leon’s House of Liquor IPS. Dalina
Schoeman, who posted a magnificent 25 individual stableford points on the back
nine, returned 43 points in total for a more than comfortable win. A count out
on 40 points saw Joanie Herselman second and John Lankester third.
TUESDAY
CLEVELAND GOLF SUPER SIX TOURNAMENT
A four-way count out on 13 points in the
Tuesday Cleveland Golf Super Six Tournament deemed Garth Lee first, Cedric van
der Ross second and Wade King third. Brian Daniels was first reserve.
THE
COMING WEEK
This week the KGC offers the Konica Minolta
Business League October outing on Wednesday and the Under 23 Spur Challenge as
well as the KWV Powerplay Niner on Thursday. On Friday it is the Vodacom
Corporate Golf Day, the premier annual corporate golf occasion on the calendar.
On Saturday it is the annual Girls High School Golf Fundraiser. On Sunday it is
the October Sealing Solutions League, the format Combined Matchplay.
