In Saturday’s
annual Senior President’s Golf Day three betterballs posted 46 points. The
count out deemed Willie Delport and Dave Wilson first, Denver van Heerden and
Donald Whitebooi second, Herby Woodbridge and Leon Blom third. Five betterballs
followed on 44 points. Way out in front, 25 points in the count out, were Johan
and Joanie Herselman, deemed fourth.
Tenderson Manyetsa
returned 20 points to win the Sun Flamingo Niner Friday. Eddie Barkhuizen and
Joanie Herselman were second and third, each on 19 points. Flex Rantoa and
Andries Kori were fourth anf fifth, each on 18 points.
OJ Maimane
returned 22 points that included a big six at the 15th and the
better count to win the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner. On the same score, losing
that count out and posting a big six at the 17th, was the runner up
Machiel Cronje. Bonolo Modise was third on 18 points, sans a powerplay
advantage. Herby Woodbridge, Hermus Venter and Dave Wilson also enjoyed a
ticket in the draw compliments of a big six.
OJ Maimane carded
a gross 73 for 41 individual stableford points to win the Darsha Insurance
Brokers IPS on Wednesday. Kevin Collings was the runner up on 39 points. Barend
Burger was third on 38 points. Three players returned 37 points – Gavin van
Zyl, John Lankester and Kassie Potgieter.
This week the KGC
hosts the Interforces Championships Tuesday and Wednesday that includes the SA
teams from the Correctional Services, the SAP and the SANDF. A Ryder Cup style
event it features singles, foursomes and betterball matches. They will commence
with a practice round Monday, however, the course will still remain closed to
the public.
Wednesday
afternoon it is the Konica Minolta Business League. On Thursday it is the KWV
Powerplay Niner. On Friday it is the Sun Flamingo Niner and the snowball draw.
On Saturday St Albans Church host their annual golf fundraiser. On Sunday it is
the Sealing Solutions League, the format greensomes.
