SUNDAY 30 AUGUST SISHEN JUNIOR OPEN
The Sishen Junior Open played at the weekend saw Joshua Edwards first in the under 17
age group and second overall. Fareez Alexander was the winner of the under 11 age group.
Competition is tight for the Northern Cape Provincial Junior Team selection with just one outing left at the Upington Golf Club this weekend.

SATURDAY 29 AUGUST 2015 PENNYPINCHERS WINTER MEAT CHALLENGE
Saturday’s third round of the 2015 Pennypinchers Winter Meat Challenge saw the Overall Challenge decided by a single point – Dries Mostert first 109, Peter Haddad second 108. Johnny Cloete and Pieter Botes were third and fourth on 106 points each with Christaricco Gordon fifth on 105 points. Ant Crozier, Dave Wilson, Tinus Venter and Lennie Allen were the remaining overall challenge prize winners.
On the day it was Fuad Mahri who secured first prize on 41 points. Dalina Schoeman, Neville Alexander and Susan Ferreira were second through to fourth respectively, all on 40 points. Paddy Raubenheimer, Kumar Anoop, Gavin Oliver and Gerhard Buys were the remaining prize winners.

FRIDAY 28 AUGUST SUN FLAMINGO NINER
Ramon Barlow was the winner of the Friday Sun Flamingo Niner, his score 22 points. Susan Alexander and Jeehan Richards were second and third, each on 21 points. The final prizes went to Allen Mayers and Luchmen Poonawassy, each on 20 points.

THURSDAY 27 AUGUST KWV POWERPLAY NINER
Ant Crozier once again grabbed a big six at the 14th on his way to posting 23 points and a comfortable win in the Thursday KWV Powerplay Niner. Wedge Crozier, who also achieved a big six at the par three 14th was second in a count out on 19 points. In third place, losing that count out, was Dave Benade.

WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST HALFWAY HOUSE HOTEL BBS
No count out was required Wednesday evening when Dries du Plessis and Siewert Wiid
posted an unchallenged 49 betterball stableford points to comfortably win the Monthly Halfway House Hotel Betterball Stableford Competition. Gavin Schafer and Bennie Claasen were second on 46 points. A count out for third place on 45 points saw Johan and Joanie Herselman edge out Harry Welham and Derek Potgieter.

TUESDAY 25 AUGUST CLEVELAND GOLF SUPER SIX TOURNAMENT
On Tuesday Garth Lee returned 15 points to take the Cleveland Golf sponsored Super Six Golf Tournament played through holes 1 to 3 and holes 7 to 9. A count out on 14 points saw OJ Maimane second and Jehaan Richards third.

THE COMING WEEK

This week the KGC offers the Cleveland Golf sponsored Super Six Golf Tournament on Tuesday and the Leon’s House of Liquor IPS on Wednesday. On Thursday the course is closed to the annual GBADS Golf Day. On Friday it is the annual Kimberley Boys High School Golf Fundraiser along with the Sun Flamingo Niner. On Saturday it is the Pennypinchers September Rhodes Medal.
