Kimberley Golf Club Report 4 October 2015
THE HNA SYSTEM FLEXES ITS MUSCLES SUNDAY
There is no break for the HNA system. A gross 76 late Sunday afternoon to win his weekly challenge saw Flexx Rantoa, who also enjoyed two midweek wins, cut to a single figure handicap. This was met with cheers and much relief from his fellow players.

SATURDAY MONTHLY MEDAL
A limited field did little to deter competitive scores in Saturday’s Monthly Medal played in most perfect conditions, weather-wise and course-wise. A count out on net 67 saw Peter Mills awarded best net overall and Kariem Anderson best net B division. William Orton returned a net 68 for best net A division, Kumar Anoop the runner up on net 69. Quinton Schaefer was the runner up in the B division on net 68. Stiaan Hugo signed for a gross 71 to take the low round of the day.

FRIDAY NG KERK KIMBERLEY GOLF DAY
18 fourballs teed up in Friday’s annual golf fundraiser hosted by the NG Kerk Kimberley.
A betterball stableford played from a scramble drive it was the two youngest players Darian Fortune and Fareez Alexander who produced the winning score, 51 points. Johan Hansen and Bertie van Litsenberg were second on 50 points on a count out from third placed Gavin van Zyl and John O’Connell. Two betterballs returned 19 ponts; Pieter Vorster and Johan Oosthuizen and E Le Roux and J Bosman.

THURSDAY KWV POWERPLAY NINER
Flexx Rantoa, on 25 points, enjoyed a comfortable win in KWV Powerplay Niner Thursday. OJ Maimane was second on 23 and Peter Mills third on 22. All three achieved a “Big Six” on their nominated holes as did Andries Kori and Parks Mashaboa. However, it was Mali Manana who led the day’s entry into the Roodeberg Steak Out with a “Great Eight” at the par three 14th hole.

WEDNESDAY ADREACH ADVERTISING BBS
Any additional points gained through matching shirts were just not enough to match a net 63 for 45 individual points by Dries du Plessis and an added three points by his partner Siewert Wiid. Together they returned 48 betterball points to claim the Adreach Advertising sponsored BBS on Wednesday afternoon. Johan and Joanie Herselman, the best dressed players on the day, were the runners up on 47 points. A count out on 45 points saw Barend Burger and Bennie Claasen third with Gavin van Zyl and Kevin Collings first reserves.

TUESDAY CLEVELAND GOLF SUPER SIX
Flexx Rantoa returned both 15 points and a successful count to take the Cleveland Golf Super Six Tournament on Tuesday evening. Llewellyn Damon, on the same, was second. Peter Salo was third on 12 points also on a count out.

THE COMING WEEK AT THE KGC
This week the Club hosts the Cleveland Golf Super Six Tournament on Tuesday, the Leon’s IPS on Wednesday and the under 23 Spur Challenge and the KWV Powerplay Niner on Thursday. On Friday it is a return to the Sun Flamingo Niner and the CTCS draw. On Saturday St Andrews Presbyterian Church hold their annual golf fundraiser.
