Exceptional scores were the order of the day in Saturday’s Adamantia
High School Rhodes Medal. Tarquin Poe claimed best net overall along with the
September Rhodes Mug after an extraordinary nine under 63. Andries Kori, whose
69 gross was the low round of the day, returned the best net A division, a 66.
Peter Haddad was the runner up in the A division on 68. Neville Alexander claimed
best net B division on 66 in a count out from runner up Ramon Barlow. Dowtie
Jardine won the play off for the August Rhodes Mug on net 76.
The NC Seniors betterball stableford was played concurrently. John
Lankester and Theo Fourie were the winners on 44 points. Brian Turner and Dave
Wilson were the runners up on 42 points in a count out from third placed Hugh
McGibbon and Francois Maritz.
Friday’s Flamingo Casino Niner had five players return 19 points, the
top score on the day. The count out determined Henk Visser, Johan Herselman,
Eli Turton, Donathon Jennings and Gavin Oliver first to fifth respectively.
A very present Kariem Anderson, page 1, name number 9, collected R1600
in the CTCS snowball draw on Friday evening.
Dave Wilson returned 22 points in the Thursday’s KWV Niner. OJ Miamane
and Andries Kori were second and third, each on 20 points.
Donathon Jennings won the Leons House of Liquor IPS on Wednesday, his
score 40 points. Stefan Le Roux was second on 39 points with Kassie Pogieter
third on 36 points.
This week the KGC offers the Konica Minolta Business League September
outing on Wednesday; the Spur Junior Challenge and the KWV Niner on Thursday;
the NG Kerk Bakenskop annual Golf Fundraiser on Friday and the Engelsman
Magabane Challenge on Saturday.
